DJ Playtime has blessed crowds with his skills at some of the hottest nightclubs in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and the Tri-State area including Club NV, Ultra 88 Lounge, Club Exit, Club Cheetah, Club Avalon, Shrine and the famous Copacabana. By working alongside top deejays, like Craig G, Tony Touch and DJ S & S, Playtime has been able to stay on top of his game. He continually studies his fellow elite peers and has learned to tap into other music genres such as Club, House and Go-Go. His versatility contributes to his success and allows him the opportunity to perform for various crowds.
Introduced to the art of deejaying by a friend and producer, Dade Faison, DJ Playtime has embraced the skill with open arms. Known for having long periods of relentless cutting, titled “Scratch Attacks” by Dade, Playtime has honed his talent to make him stand out on the party scene. The majority of his free time is spent sharpening his deejaying skills. His pure dedication and passion to this art has led him to be known as one of the hottest club deejays around.
His unique urban style and high energy are greatly influenced by his DJ idols Jazzy Jeff, Funk Master Flex, Kid Capri and Mr. Cee. As a Massachusetts resident, Playtime takes advantage of every opportunity to see, hear and study his idols. Today, Playtime finds himself meeting Hip Hop artists who influence his skill and promoting/deejaying in venues where they perform. “It amazes me when I am playing in a club and deejays such as Kid Capri, Craig G or Goldfinger are listening to me play.”
DJ Playtime entered college at Bucknell University in 1997 and developed as an individual while gaining valuable experience while performing for diverse crowds. It was Playtime’s college experiences that caused Playtime to break away from the shadows of his DJ idols and create a unique style of his own. It was not too long ago that Playtime was content with warming up at small nightclubs; however that has evolved into a headline performer who often plays to arena-size crowds.
DJ Playtime entered graduate school at UMASS-Amherst in 2001, where he deejayed some of the campuses top parties and concerts. In 2003, DJ Playtime became a member of X-Factah, INC, an exclusive management and DJ team. With that he made his first radio appearance on the one of the most popular radio shows in the US, the Wendy Williams Experience on WBLS in August 2003. Nicole S. of Power 105 in New York City heard his appearance and quickly recruited Playtime to Power 104.1 WPHH in Hartford CT, where Playtime was given the Saturday night slot. That was just the beginning.
In 2003, DJ Playtime joined forces with Top Floor Entertainment’s, DJ Craig G to create an unprecedented nightclub force in the Tri-State Area. Top Floor Entertainment is made up of New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts’ top deejays and has been rocking the area’s premier night clubs for over a decade including at-capacity crowds. With the most talented deejays in the area and a dedicated following, Top Floor has easily become the most successful entertainment company in the region.
Today, DJ Playtime is a partner in Top Floor Entertainment and continues to be one of the most requested deejays in the area. He can be found on your radio dial at 93.7 WZMX Hartford, CT. When he is not on-air, Playtime can be found performing at some of the hottest clubs on the East Coast, including Room 960 (Hartford), Bourbon Street (Hartford), Emperor Lounge (Hartford), Club Passion (Providence), Shrine (MGM Grand), Blue Wave (Boston), and the list goes on…
In the future, DJ Playtime wants to exercise his entrepreneurial skills and expand Playtime Entertainment by adding quality artists and entertainers to his already impressive roster. He will continue to promote shows and tours worldwide and aspires to perform on major television networks like BET and MTV.
DJ Playtime is a deejay that uses a microphone, turntables and his records to stimulate and exhilarate his audience. This is the “Playtime Experience”.
